Product introduction:

Polyurethane Primer is a thin primer composed of epoxy modified polyurethane resin, amine hardener and environmentally friendly solvent. It can dry in a short time and advantageously adhere to polymer substrates, such as rubber and glass fiber reinforced plastics, thereby improving the adhesion of polyurea to the substrate.

Range of application:

Polyurethane Primer is mainly used as the primer for polyurea material to realize favorable adhesion to multiple substrates. In addition, it can also be used as polyurea material primer to strengthen inter-layer adhesion.

Construction description:

Construction condition: Temperature of painting substrate: 5℃- 45℃

The relative humidity is below 85%, the substrate surface temperature is over 3℃ higher than the dew point temperature and both the humidity and temperature shall be measured near the substrate.

Outdoor painting is not allowed in rainy, snowy, foggy or strongly windy days.

Surface treatment:

The rubber and glass fiber reinforced plastics substrates should be polished with 40 grinder and the old coating should be dedusted and degreased.

(1) Surface treatment of rubber block

a. Cleaning: The surface is washed with high pressure of water, remove salt and pollutants. Use the acetone to wipe and clean the residual oil stain.

b. Grinding: use 40# felt disks to grind the surface. The finishing coat is completely polished away till the entire is in the inferior smooth state, with certain roughness.

c. Rinsing: wash the polished surface of rubbers, use the cotton cloth to wipe, and remove the surface residues of rubber particles.

d. Airing: After the surface is completely dried, the next construction can be made. It needs drying in such temperature and humidity ranges of above 25 ℃ and below 60% for 24h.

(2) Dealing with the substrate of glass fiber reinforced plastics

a. Grinding: Use 40# felt disks to grind the surface of glass fiber reinforced plastics. The surface is completely polished away till the entire is in inferior smooth state.

b. Cleaning: use the dishcloth of acetone to clean the surface so as to remove residual dust.

(3) Dealing with the steel substrate

a. Cleaning: Use the solvent to clean the surface oil stain of the substrate; such as, if the soluble salt is beyond the standard, it should be washed in fresh water.

b. Sand blasting/grinding: Spray the surface of steel substrate to Sa2.5 level, or grind manually to Sa3.0 level.


Compatibility:

Pre-process compatibility: It can be used together with coating materials such as epoxy, polyurethane and sparying polyurea.

Next-process compatibility: It can be used together with coating materials such as epoxy, chlorinated rubber, epoxy asphalt, asphalt family material, polyurethane and sparying polyurea.


Packaging specifications:

Storage:

The storage warehouse should be kept dry, ventilated and away from heat and fire. Packaging should be kept sealed and the storage period can be one year.


Safety:

All fire sources must be banned at the paint preparation and construction site. Construction personnel should wear protective equipment to avoid skin contact with the coating. If paint is spilled on the skin during construction, the skin should be immediately washed with a suitable cleaning agent or soapy water and consulted for medical treatment.
